LIFE APPLICATION STUDY BIBLE
I feel it is imperative for every Christian to have a good study Bible. Mine was a monumental stepping stone to help me on my journey to better understanding the Word. I always suggest the NLT version for new Christians. It is not a word-for-word translation, but a thought-for-thought translation, and I find that the paraphrasing makes the text much easier to understand.

CHRONOLOGICAL LIFE APPLICATION STUDY BIBLE
The Bible isn't laid out in the order the events happened. The writings are grouped together with like writings. I like to read from this chronological Bible. Just beware it can be difficult to look up scriptures this particular type of Bible because all the texts are broken up and placed in order. If you use the Bible app from Bible.com, they have a chronological reading plan you can use for free.

THE GOD CHASERS
by Tommy Tenney I think this book should be a must read for EVERY person who calls themself a Christian. It is eye opening and helps us to really understand how humans have been putting God in a box and expecting Him to meet us on our terms and according to our timeline. There is an alternative cover that is tan and green, but it is the same book. I encourage you strongly to get a copy of this!

LOVE & RESPECT
by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs This book has become quite controversial since I read it a few years ago, but my opinion stands. The foundation of the writing is Paul's teaching in Ephesians chapter 5 where he instructs wives to respect their husbands and husbands to love their wives. In short, this is because men vastly differ from women when it comes to thoughts and feelings. Men crave respect like women crave love. There have been men to twist the teachings of this book and their wives have blamed it for their misery, but truthfully, a man who is not dedicated to Christ can even twist scripture to manipulate his wife. This book is not to blame. Personally, I found it very insightful. It helped me to understand my husband in a way I don't think I ever could have had I not read this book.

BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND
by Joyce Meyer This book is such a big help to understand the root of sin in our lives. Our physical bodies don't just sin on their own. There is always a thought that comes before the action. Understanding our thoughts is crucial to living a righteous life. This book helps us identify how the enemy plants things in our minds creating unhealthy mindsets. Spiritual warfare is REAL and it takes place in our thoughts.

OUT OF THE DEVIL'S CAULDRON
by John Ramirez This is another book that really opened my eyes to the spiritual war going on around us. It tells the story of John Ramirez who was caught up in witchcraft as a child. Satan used him to manipulate others and rewarded him with physical things to do so. It was inspirational to read about God pulling him out of such a dark life and setting him on a path to expose the enemy and his tactics, and to save others who have been caught up in the darkness as well.

LIES WOMEN BELIEVE
by Nancy Demoss Wolgemuth This book is very insightful to help us break down cultural norms that are actually sinful. I think it could be useful to any woman starting her Christian journey, or even a woman who is mature in Christ. I've taught from this book many times and was always astonished at the little things that have deceived women. There is also a workbook that goes along with this book, though I don't feel it adds much to the teaching. There are many variations of this book for young women, teens, and girls. Nancy's husband has written a book titled 'Lies Men Believe'. I've not read it, but expect it could be helpful to men.
